‘FANTASY ON ICE’ WORLD PREMIERE SKATES INTO SUMMER IN ABU DHABI
‘Fantasy on Ice’ - an original production that combines the mystifying world of magic illusion and the unique artistry of ice skating – is to have its international premiere at Summer in Abu Dhabi, the family festival that runs for six weeks from June 24,2010.

Specially tailored for Gulf audiences by the USA’s award-winning Steve Wheeler Productions, the one-hour show will run July 4-15 at the expansive Abu Dhabi Hall at Abu Dhabi National Exhibitions Centre and feature first-of-their-kind routines and stunts.

Audiences will be involved in the show’s light-hearted and comic acts bringing the captivating ‘Fantasy On Ice’ story alive for the thousands  expected to attend.

“The hosting of this world premiere takes the Summer in Abu Dhabi headline entertainment to a whole new level,” said Faisal Al Sheikh, Events Manager, Abu Dhabi Tourism Authority (ADTA), which organises the festival.

“Even better news for audiences is that for every adult ticket bought, another adult or child’s ticket will be given free – making it a very affordable family excursion.”

Adult tickets for Fantasy on Ice are AED200 with children’s tickets, for youngsters under 12 years, costing AED75. They can be bought at ADNEC and via http://www.boxofficeme.com/.

Taking to a specially constructed Abu Dhabi Hall ice floor will be the show’s international cast featuring ice-skating stars from the USA, Austria, France, Ukraine, South Africa, Mexico, Canada, Italy and the UK.

The ice floor, commissioned from Germany, will be almost half of the size of a soccer pitch and take two days to install in Abu Dhabi Hall – the UAE’s largest indoor entertainment venue.

‘Fantasy On Ice’ rounds out a trio of Summer in Abu Dhabi headline acts. Kicking off the festival – the largest in its three-year history – is the legendary Irish theatrical ‘Lord of the Dance’, the world’s highest grossing dance show, taking place at ADNEC from 23 – 26 June.

In addition, New York’s award-winning ‘Big Apple Circus’, one of the world’s largest, will make its Middle East debut at Abu Dhabi Hall from 23 July to 3 August, bringing the curtain down on a festival expected to attract audiences in their thousands. Coming direct from the USA, the circus, which has been billed as “nothing short of spectacular” by New York’s acclaimed social website WhomYouKnow.com, will feature a stellar cast of international stars from Europe and Russia.
