For those on a short stay and wish to see and experience the most that Abu Dhabi has to offer, there are a number of tour operators that organise half-day city tours to overnight safaris in the desert. We recommend dune bashing to all those who haven’t experienced the fun of driving off-road in a four-wheel drive (4WD) on the tricky desert sand dunes.
Most tours have pick-up points and usually start at 15:00. Standard tour packages include camel rides, dune bugging and sand skiing. In addition to these activities, full day safaris include driving through Bedouin villages and camel farms in the desert, mountain climbing and watching traditional falconry demonstration.
In addition to off-road driving, desert and camping safaris, there is a range of other specialized activities like dhow charters and corniche cruise, cultural tours, island expeditions, scuba diving, canoeing and bird watching for nature lovers offered within close proximity of the city.

Corniche Cruises
For those interested in sailing along the Abu Dhabi Corniche there are a number of dhows (locally-designed boats) anchored along the breakwater. There is one to meet everyone’s budget and taste; cruise fees vary based on duration of trip to the services offered on board. The average price for most is AED 80/- per person with light meal offered on board. Shuja Yacht is a luxury liner that offers mouth watering sea food in buffet style.

All Aboard for a Helicopter View
